This third picture of the author’s mother, Rosa Portnoi, born february 15th 1921 in Telsai, is from the last class photograph she has kept.
She didn’t remember which year she dropped out from the gymnasium to work – probably in 1939 during her 7th year, but the accuracy of the information given by Rosa about the school curriculum and many others aspects has been widely confirmed since the author has opened the archives of the Telsiai Yavne schools for girls in Vilnius.
Survived, mariée Rozenbaumas, lives in Paris
