April 15, 2012, Tel Aviv, Sonia (Sarah Yosolovitz) Toor has recognized herself on this group photograph. Many members of the family, including Sonia (under Sarah’le) are on the Lithuanian Names Project list.
Sarah escaped from Telz when she was 17. Thanks to the scientific education she acquired in Yavne Gymnasium, she worked in a pharmacy in Memel. She ended up in the Kovner ghetto. A Lithuanian girl, Elena, has saved her life, at the risk of her own one.
Sarah survived the war, made her way to Palestine where she became a radiologist. She has married a well known cardiologist. Now a widow, she became during the last decades a good painter. She lives in Petah Tikvah.
