Sefer Telz

The Yizker bikher, called in English Books of memory, can be considered as the paper monument established by the Jewish survivors to remember their destroyed communities after WW2. Written, edited and published by the Jewish communities all over Eastern and Central Europe, these books are one of the main source for historians, anthropologists and researchers in many fields, not only about the last period of Jewish life in Europe, but even about earlier events and traditions.

The New York Public Library has developed a vast publication project of these memorial books.

The Telsiai book of memory, the Sefer Telz is now available online.

This website devoted to the memory of the girls and women of Telz is also a tribute to the whole Jewish community of this town. When developed This page will present translations in English and French of part of the material of the Sefer Telz.
